Who we are
This policy explains how Esencia LLC, doing business as Esencia Beauty Studio (“we”, “us”), collects, uses and protects personal information when you visit this website or contact us. Our studio is at 4060 S El Camino Real, Suite A, Studio 2, San Mateo, CA 94403.
Information we collect
Information you give us
When you call, text or message us, we receive your name, contact details, the content of your message and any information about your skin that you choose to share.
Booking appointments
You book by phone, by text or through our online booking page. We use the details you give us, such as your name, contact details, the treatment you want and your preferred time, to schedule and confirm your appointment. If we use a booking or payment provider, it handles your information under its own privacy policy.
Information collected automatically
Like most websites, our hosting provider may log technical data such as your IP address, browser type, pages requested and the date and time of your visit. These logs are used for security and to keep the site working.
Cookies and local storage
See the Cookie Policy section below.
How we use information
- To schedule, prepare for and provide your treatments.
- To answer your questions and send appointment related messages.
- To keep consultation and treatment records so your care is safe and consistent.
- To protect our website and business, and to meet legal obligations.
Skin and health information you share during a consultation is used only to provide safe and appropriate treatment.
How we share information
We share personal information only with service providers that help us run our business, such as our website host and our booking and payment providers, and when the law requires it. If our business is sold or transferred, information may pass to the new owner under this policy.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross context behavioral advertising.
Cookie Policy
Cookies are small files that websites store in your browser. Similar technologies include local storage.
- What we use today: this website does not set advertising or analytics cookies. It stores one item in your browser’s local storage to remember your cookie choice.
- Optional cookies: if we add optional tools later, such as privacy friendly analytics, they will run only if you select Accept, and we will update this policy first.
- Other websites: when you follow a link to Instagram or another site, that site’s own cookies and policies apply.
You can change your choice at any time with the Cookie settings link at the bottom of every page, or by clearing your browser’s site data.
Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control
This website does not track you across other websites. We treat a Global Privacy Control signal from your browser as a request to opt out of optional cookies, and we apply it automatically. There is no common standard for Do Not Track signals, so we handle them the same way.
Your California privacy rights
Depending on the size of a business, the California Consumer Privacy Act may apply. Whether or not it applies to us, we will honor reasonable requests to:
- know what personal information we hold about you and how we use it;
- correct inaccurate personal information;
- delete personal information, subject to records we must keep by law;
- opt out of any sale or sharing of personal information, which we do not do.
We will not treat you differently for making a request. We respond within 45 days and may need to confirm your identity first. An authorized agent may make a request on your behalf with your written permission.
Shine the Light. California Civil Code section 1798.83 lets California residents ask about personal information shared with third parties for their direct marketing. We do not share personal information for that purpose.
Children
This website is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them online.
Keeping and protecting information
We keep personal information only as long as needed to provide our services and to meet legal, tax and record keeping requirements, and then delete it. We use reasonable safeguards to protect it, but no website or system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
Links to other websites
Our website may link to sites we do not control, such as social media. Please review their privacy policies.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
